New to Hope
New Here?
We are so glad you have visited today. We would love to meet you sometime soon. We have answers to some common questions about Hope Lutheran Church below. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Perhaps it’s been a while since you visited a church, you are new to the area or simply want to check out Hope. Welcome, we encourage you to join us.
What can you tell me about Hope Lutheran Church?
As a congregation, Hope Lutheran Church seeks to strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ, to proclaim the Gospel to others, and to strive for unity in Christ. Our mission is to serve the spiritual needs of its members and to spread the Good News of Salvation to the community and the world through acts of kindness, caring, and generosity.
We are a congregation rich in talent and resources, and the Holy Spirit is present through the many people who are dedicated to the Word of God. There are musicians, teachers, and volunteers who are willing to take on leadership roles. We have a strong commitment to helping all of our members develop their faith in Jesus Christ. We are open to new ideas and have people who are willing to help incorporate new activities into our churches.
When is worship and where are you located?
Currently, we are worshipping on Sunday at 9:00 am. Typically the worship service is one hour in length.
Worship with us in person at 113 South Jefferson St in Minneota, MN, or online with our live stream on Sundays on Facebook and YouTube.
From September through April, we offer a midweek interactive worship experience at 5:30 pm on Wednesday which includes opportunities for youth through GLOW and TEEN POWER and for adults of all ages through GROW. We come together for a community meal at 5:30 pm and the interactive worship begins at 6:00 pm. We wrap up with a worship experience together for all ages that is typically around 15 minutes in length. This midweek worship experience is unique and provides a discipleship pathway for anyone.
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. We encourage you to come as you are and dress in what feels most comfortable. Some prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! Simply come as you are.
What are your worship services like?
They contain excellent music, relevant preaching directly from Scripture, time for prayer, sharing in the Lord’s Supper (first and third Sundays of each month), celebrating baptism, and challenging ourselves to be the church beyond the weekend.
We utilize a discipleship-focused, Christ-centered worship experience that focuses on an aspect of living life as God’s people. People often comment on how helpful the discipleship pathway is in equipping them to be followers of Jesus in the ‘real world’ beyond the walls of the church.
What about my kids?
At Hope Lutheran Church we love kids! Children are welcome in all of our worship services. If wiggles and restlessness get the best of you and your little one, that’s okay – Jesus said to bring the little children to me, so if He’s okay with some wiggles so are we.
From September through April, we offer children’s [PK-6th grade] discipleship pathways through our GLOW pathway on Wednesday nights. Learn more about GLOW.
Middle School youth [7th – 8th] meet together on Wednesday nights for their discipleship pathway through our IGNITE pathway. Learn more about IGNITE.
High School youth [9th – 12th] gather for TEEN POWER on Wednesday nights for their discipleship pathway. And on select Sunday evenings at 7 pm. Learn more about TEEN POWER discipleship pathway.
How do I learn more and get connected?
All are welcome to get involved in the opportunities to live out faith, regardless of membership at Hope. On Sundays, you are invited to stop by our Welcome Area just outside of the Sanctuary. A volunteer is excited to answer your questions. The Welcome Area is where you can find a current list of discipleship pathways and event opportunities and other immediate ways you can get involved.
Be sure to check out our Facebook page, Spirit Speak Podcast, and join the community online.
You can also contact the church office with any questions at (507) 872-6446.
What is church membership and how do I join?
Membership simply means you would like to be an official Hope partner in ministry. To join, we invite you to start the membership journey with a conversation with Pastor Jon, either in person or online. Membership Classes are held 3 times per year (January, May, September). Please reach out to Pastor Jon to be included in the next membership class or with any questions using this link:
